The Venom promoted mostly their bench and fringe players to the lineup for their League 3 encounter with Boston Stars. After the first half one would not have said the regular lineup is not playing as the Venom dominated all aspects and built a commanding 40-0 lead. In the second half, however, the Venom took a back seat and did only enough to keep the match about even, final score 61-17. Right winger Zac Smith had an impressive, energetic performance while old-timer flanker Baldassario Ricci found some good form after some indifferent performances in the first two rounds.

In League 4 the Memphis Blues outwit the Buffalo Tigers in a high-scoring game, 56-32. Overall, the Blues were in good form and most players received good match ratings. No. 6 Jaco Ferreira underlined his immense potential with another impressive MOTM performance.

The Cape Town Cobras were in excellent form in their League 5 encounter with Exeter Aztecs. The backrow with No. 8 Ben Chapman at the helm were dominant. The Cobras outclassed and overpowered the Aztecs by 42-26.

In League 1 Cape Town Blitz initially spilled multiple scoring opportunities against Manawatu Boars and had to go into the changeroom with scores tied at 17 all. In the first part of the second half it was the Boars that found the edge and after 50 minutes were leading 31-22. Thereafter, the Blitz took control and this time around converted their opportunities to finish the match victorious by 46-34. Corbett Caumartin was excellent in the midfield, but two injuries to Kini van Velze and Matthew Paulo cast some shadow over celebrations.
